Daniel is a Cambridge trained surgeon who spent approximately 10 years practising medicine in the United Kingdom across vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and intensive care, trauma and orthopaedics, endocrinology, rehabilitation medicine, and academic training roles. That clinical foundation gives him direct understanding of care delivery, operational failure points, multidisciplinary execution, and the realities that shape adoption, performance, and change in healthcare systems.

He later moved into consulting at Bain & Company, strategy and transaction work at TNC818 Partners, and led the investment process end-to-end at VFD Group. Across those roles, he worked on multi-sector commercial strategy, commercial due diligence, operating model redesign, procurement transformation, valuation-aware investment processes, and committee-grade decision support for global and Tier 1 clients.

Alongside advisory and investment work, Daniel has built practical products and workflows in digital health, financial planning, and investment intelligence. Responsibilities included acute referrals, peri-operative management, ward leadership, outpatient review, teaching, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Operating model, cost optimisation, and procurement transformation

Led work across healthcare and broader corporate environments on operating model redesign, procurement transformation, and cost optimisation. This included managing multiple workstreams across procurement programmes that delivered more than $25 million of P&L savings for a global trading organisation, as well as creating a £60 million savings capture plan for a billion-dollar UK healthcare organisation and a global food player.

Supported healthcare commercial due diligence, acquisition target screening, procurement optimisation, and operating model analysis across healthcare services, medtech, healthcare software, and adjacent healthcare categories, combining market assessment with practical understanding of provider economics and procurement behaviour.

Commercial due diligence on core insurance software

Worked on diligence for a leading core insurance software business across North America, Europe, and APAC in a major global private equity context. The work included market attractiveness assessment, customer workflow review, product positioning, growth projections, and identification of possible M&A targets as part of a post-acquisition value creation plan.

Payments infrastructure strategy for a major UK banking institution

Supported a review of the payments solution within the core banking stack, including vendor landscape assessment, platform integration potential, functional and technical requirements, and strategic fit within a regulated core banking environment.

Post-merger technology and data architecture integration

Acted as a strategic adviser on integration work following a large UK domestic financial services merger involving institutions with a combined footprint of more than 20 million customers. The work focused on legacy systems, core platform alignment, and coherent integration pathways across business-critical infrastructure.

Daniel holds a BA in Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos and MA from the University of Cambridge, alongside an MBBS from King's College London Medical School. He also holds full GMC registration and affiliate membership of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Research and presentations in sepsis and cardiothoracic surgery

His earlier academic record includes a Cambridge dissertation on sepsis diagnosis and prognostication, an oral presentation on anti-inflammatory cytokines in sepsis at the MANSAG Annual Scientific Conference, and a poster presentation at the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery annual meeting.

Teaching, lecturing, and public speaking

Daniel has served as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield Medical School and has delivered keynote talks on healthcare innovation and health IT in Nigeria. He has also led medical education and clinical teaching in hospital and university contexts.
